We’re long-time fans of fellow Townsville band Steve & The Lion and can’t wait to check out their debut EP when it’s released next month. We had a little chat with them, to find out what people should expect from their electrifying live shows and what’s in the cards for them in the near future:
Describe your live show:
Cool yet hot, energetic yet chilled, improvised yet rehearsed.
What exciting stuff do you have on the boil at the moment?
We have currently sent away 5 tracks for mastering in Melbourne. Our EP launch date is set for the 18th of November at the Commonwealth Hotel in South Townsville, where we have organised two great young local artists to support us on stage. The 5 track EP will be available for purchase along with merchandise.
Where do you think Townsville’s live music scene is headed?
Personally we have had awesome opportunities in Townsville, supporting the likes of “DZ Deathrays”, “The Rubens” and next month “Kingswood” when they come to Townsville. So we hope that the Townsville music scene can continue to support local artists in these tough financial times by offering a stage, a mic and an amp to rock out with!
You look familiar, where have we crossed paths before? :-p
We have actually played three shows alongside King Social over the past year. We hope we warmed up the crowd and stage for you guys to bring home the bacon every gig.We respect the hard work and professionalism that King Social display, not to mention their talent as musicians… oh and that they are alright blokes as well haha.
If you’re in Townsville, don’t miss Steve & The Lion’s EP launch at the Commonwealth Hotel on 18 November. We’ll sure as hell be there to cheer them on!
