Jason’s Christmas

My best memory of Christmas is…

When I was in Darwin… I can’t remember that one! Damn. My next best memory of Christmas was a couple of years back when I was in the cover band Mojo with Luke Heitamaki, Shane Schofield and Daks Plozza. We played for four hours and killed it. I had a girl show me her breasts to request a song, another girl was giving us the big V and showing us her amazing underwear from her chair, Shane passed out from too many cookies and at the end of the night we all got paid $1,500 each – which is more than what I’ve ever been paid in this band. Yeah that was my best Christmas.

Christmas in my household includes…

It usually starts with a champagne breakfast and a big bag of king prawns. Then all of the family start rocking up. My uncles and I just get stuck into drinking and lazing around in the pool, cousins and kids all put the presents under the tree. My aunties cook up the biggest mid-afternoon meal with a lot of coffee to get through the next round of drinking. Then our guests arrive and we’re into it again with a few beers and dart games. Usually from this point on I can’t remember what happens the next day.

I’m spending my holidays…

Christmas with my family again.  I’ve got two families cause I’m adopted, so I’m going to Melbourne with my adopted family over the New Year. On the way well spend NYE at Woodford Folk Festival in Brisbane. Then we’ll head on South to my Grandparents’ holiday house for a quiet New Year’s night watching the ships sail into Port Phillip Bay sipping a few port wines with my Grandfather and Dad while the women prepare dinner every night. Yes Yes…!

This year, I’m asking Santa for…

Let’s be specific about one thing. I’m a Musician! I want more music equipment. I can’t wait to get my hands on a new drum kit, some music recording software instruments, a new pedal board for my guitar FX, a stereo power amp for a stereo guitar rig and I’ve always wanted a Double Neck guitar! Two necks are better than one… especially with my hands 🙂

I learnt the truth about Santa…

The year I got my ACDC Thunderstruck cassette tape and a walk-man!  My Mum said to me, “Jason….there’s something we need to tell you about Christmas. Santa Claus isn’t real, your Dad and I have been filling up your pillow case with presents every year. Here’s some ACDC and a walk-man for you this year. Rock and Roll Son!”
